In Djinn, players take on the role of eager apprentices of the Academy of Magical Arts who are tasked with protecting a vital resource by capturing the creatures who threaten it. These beings of dubious character, the Djinn, have begun to appear around the city and challenge access to the Magical Source found at the center of town.
Players will race to collect the necessary resources and materials to craft special Djinn bottles made from dragon glass, into which they can trap these beings and seal them away forever using a special cork. While visiting each location, including the Academy, Archives, Manufactory, and the Market, they will gain valuable Magic Power, unearth hidden Treasures, create Secret Passages, and even find allies for hire at the Tavern. Only those who cleverly plan their travel route can take on the most powerful Boss Djinn and receive valuable Trophies from the Magic Guild.
Once players are comfortable with the core mechanics, incorporate the variable board setup, end game Scoring Cards, and Character Tiles, to reveal fresh asymmetric challenges. Designer Benjamin Schwer has crafted a clever and atmospheric game that rewards both long-term strategic planning and flexibility. Every game of Djinn will present a new puzzle to decipher and explore.
